DCCC: Women’s soccer looks to improve as they prepare for upcoming season

Mike Smith DCCC Sports Information Director It will be a new look for the Dodge City women’s soccer team when they step on the pitch for the 2022 season, as second-year Head Coach Javier Holguin will have a roster filled with brand new faces. After finishing 3-11 in year one, Coach Holguin hopes a full off-season program and period for recruiting will help push the Conquistadors in the right direction and take a step forward in year two under his guidance.

Verla J. Charles, 88 of Visalia, died August 8, 2022. She was born April 28, 1934, in Dodge City, Kansas and attended school in Dodge City. She married James O. Charles of Jetmore, Kansas, in 1955 and they moved to Hawthorne, California in 1960, and then to Visalia in 1979.

Alberta Marie (Timm) Young

17, 1937, the daughter of Albert William Timm and Ida Marie (Rowe) Timm. She graduated from Northeast High School, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1955, and from Kansas State University in 1959, with a Bachelor of Science in the College of Home Economics, majoring in textiles and clothing.
