Rocky E. Indiek

DODGE CITY – Rocky E. Indiek, 63, died Friday, December 30, 2022 at Medicalodges in Kinsley, Kansas.

He was bom on June 17, 1959 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Anthony Henry and Joan Cecilia (Dixon) Indiek. He was a lifetime area resident. Rocky enjoyed being with his friends and having people over for his legendary prime rib. He loved socializing around town with friends and strangers alike. Rocky loved to ride his Harley, especially to his annual trips to Sturgis. He began working for KDOT at 19 years old and retired in 2012 after 34 years of service. He was also a “hobby fanner” and well-known for his swathing and baling services.

Survivors include: his wife, Christeena Jackson, Dodge City; his son, Ben Indiek, Boise, Idaho; a sister, Karen Lewis, Elk City, Oklahoma; a brother, Jerome Indiek and wife Amy, Spearville; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brotherin-law, Jay Lewis, and a nephew, Jameison Indiek.

Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City with David Johnson officiating. There will be no public viewing, as cremation has taken place.
