Ruth Thomas

Ruth Thomas, 88, died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.  She was born May 17, 1924 at Nash, OK the daughter of Henry K. and Mary Marie (McDermed) Howard.  On July 17, 1939 she married Howard A. Thomas at Medicine Lodge. He died December 3, 2006.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter Kay Lynn and son-in-law Garland Smith, Dodge City, Kansas; a son Tom Thomas, Sharon, KS; three sisters, Wilma Kusch, Fairview, OK; Mae Rodgers, Dodge City; and Patti Tate, Pollok, TX; 5 Grandchildren, Lori Crowder and husband Kurt, Brad Smith and wife Mary, Matt Thomas, Chris Beeman, and Jeff Beeman, 6 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Step-Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Howard Thomas, her Step-mother Evelyn K. (Pearce) Howard, two brothers, Gordon Howard and Wayne Howard and a sister Glenna Lee Howard.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2012 at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
