Shirley Joan Wells Blake, twelfth child of Mary Ann Richards and John Wells, was born at their family farm outside of Howard Kansas September 25, 1934. She passed away on September 2, 2022, at her home in Laramie, Wyoming.

She is survived by her brother Virgil Wells, her daughters Kathy Sue Evans and Cindy (Max) Hammer, and son Randall Forrest (Linda) Blake, a granddaughter, six grandsons, and many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren

Inurnment and a life celebration will be held at 2:00 pm at the Howard Kansas cemetery on Saturday, October 1, 2022. A reception will follow in the Cox Building, downtown Howard.
