Dodge City Stella M. Phillips, 84, died March 23, 2022 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City after a long battle with cancer. She was born on July 14, 1937 at Stafford, Kansas the daughter of Murry and Lillie (Hopper) Hall.
Stella married Harold Phillips on July 14, 1957 in Dodge City he preceded her in death on January 7, 2002. She was raised by her step father Fred Lewis and her mother Lillie Lewis after the passing of her father Murry at such a young age. Stella was a avid fan of KU Basketball and also loved the Kansas City Royals.
She is survived by one daughter Cindy Adams and husband Randy of Spur, Texas; one son Norman Phillips and wife Tara of Sedgwick, Kansas; one brother Lawrence Hall Sr. and wife Florence of Bucklin as well as nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and her caretaker Cecelia Martinez. She is also survived by three brother-in-laws Jim Phillips, Ed Phillips, Rick Phillips as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Chris Phillips, two grandsons, two sisters Phyllis Jantz, Linda Phillips and one brother Bill Hall Sr.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday March 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Dodge City Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.
