Thomas Denton "Denny" Stauth, 69, died June 27, 2013 at the Robert J. Dole VAMC in Wichita. He was born on April 28, 1944 in Dodge City, the son of Thomas Eugene and Verla (Creech) Stauth.
Denny graduated from Dodge City High School and St. Mary's of the Plains. He then went on to Duke University, where he obtained his Master's Degree in Theology. Denny served in the U.S. Army. He was a minister in Osborne, Smith Center, and Topeka.
Denny is survived by a son, Shannon Stauth and wife Jan of Hays; a daughter, Alisha Ontiberos and husband Charles of Dodge City; mother, Verla Stauth of Dodge City; a brother, Steve Stauth and wife Kay of Dodge City; and eight grandchildren, Andrew and Tanner Burkhart, Taryn and Braden Stauth, and Jordan, Ty, and Jaycie Ontiberos. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Eugene Stauth.
Graveside memorial service will be held at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Fort Dodge with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 and KSARNG Military Honors on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Phil Scott presiding There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City. Memorials are suggested to the Robert J. Dole V.A.
