USD 443 BOE makes bid purchases for Memorial Stadium renovation, vehicles

The Dodge City USD 443 Board of Education had a busy night Monday with several recognitions for students and student-athletes, as well as putting in place to recruitment more teachers. One of the big-ticket agenda items discussed for approval was the phase two renovations for Memorial Stadium.

City water rates will increase minimally

Dodge City commissioners approved a small increase in fees for water utilities, sanitation sewer services, solid waste collection and storm water utility services at their March 21 meeting. Mayor Kent Smoll, Vice Mayor Michael Burns and Commissioners Rick Sowers, Chuck Taylor and Joe Nuci were present.

DCCC: Softball drops a pair to Butler

The recent home stretch continued for the Dodge City softball team as they hosted #6 Butler for a Jayhawk Conference doubleheader and the Conquistadors fell behind early and were unable to recover falling 18-1 and 11-3 both in five innings.

What’s the reason for the out of service fire hydrants?

As several community members have asked, the answer has been provided regarding several fire hydrants throughout Dodge City having a bag on it stating it is out of service. According to Dodge City Fire Chief Ken Spencer, as hydrants have components that can fail or break, it makes them inoperable and in need of repairs.
