We are wrapping up November and sliding into December now at Dodge City Public Library! DCPL is seeking donations of gift-wrapping supplies for a future Holiday Gift Wrapping Center. Wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift bags, ribbon, bows and tags will be needed.

2) Last week we took a brief look at the history of The Salvation Army Red Kettles and learned that the tradition started in San Francisco, California in 1891, 131 years ago! The Red Kettle has evolved a bit over the years from the fisherman’s crab pot, but one thing remains the same, the caring persons behind the Red Kettle. That person next to the Kettle may be a Salvation Army Officer (Pastor), Officer Cadet (future Pastor in training), or even more likely, a volunteer.
