The Bucklin Red Aces derailed Ellis the night of March 7. In game one Nate Bowman threw a gem for the Red Aces, allowing zero runs and besting Ellis by a score of 4-0 In the first inning, the Red Aces got their offense started when Bowman doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

The Red Demons fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-7 loss to Blue Valley West May 8. Blue Valley West scored on a double by Kyle Jones in the first inning, a walk by Joey Nichols in the first inning, a double by Joseph Lock in the first inning, a single by Alex Villegas in the second inning, and a wild pitch during Nichols’s at bat in the second inning.

KDOT hosts May 17 public meeting on intersection improvements near Dodge City

The public is invited to attend a public meeting for the U.S. 56/U.S. 283/U.S. 400/2nd Avenue intersection improvement project just south of Dodge City on Tuesday, May 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Dodge City Public Schools USD 443 Civic Center VIP Room, 2112 1st Ave. The Kansas Department of Transportation is hosting the event.

Gray County, KBI investigating fire death

CIMARRON — Around noon on Thursday, May 5, EMS, fire and the Gray County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trailer fire near 4th Street and Avenue C in Cimarron. According to the Gray County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, while working the fire, an adult person was found to be deceased inside the residence.

Rodriguez Named DC3 Distinguished Alumnus
