James Louis Kellenberger

Jetmore- James Louis Kellenberger, born August 23, 1940 in Cherryvale, KS. passed away on April 17, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Dee Kellenberger of Jetmore, KS; One daughter Brenda Ringle of Jetmore, KS and her daughter Jade; three sons, Scott Kellenberger, (Sheri) of Minneola, KS and their three children, Mirranda, Marriah, and Logan; Ken Kellenberger (Bev) of Oologah,OK and their daughter Chelsea; John Kellenberger (Angie) of Ashland, KS and their three children, Calley, Call and Cord, and numerous great grand children.

Celia V. Rangel

Celia V. Rangel, age 95, of Denver, Colorado, had a peaceful passing on Friday, March 4, 2022 at the home of her eldest son, Charles (Carlos) and his wife, Josie Rangel. Her second eldest son, George (Jorge) and his wife, Clara Rangel, were also present. Her close family and grandchildren kept a lengthy vigil during her passing. Lawrence Rangel, her husband of over 52 years, preceded her in death on March 23, 2000.

Ford County joins fire investigation task force

The Ford County Commission approved fire response initiatives at its April 18 meeting. Commissioners Christopher Boys and Shawn Tasset were present at the meeting and Commissioner Ken Snook was present via speaker phone.

City prepares plat for Hilmar Cheese Company

The city commission voted April 18 to fill a vacancy on the planning commission and approved plats for Sundance Addition and Hilmar Cheese Company. Mayor Kent Smoll, Vice Mayor Michael Burns, Commissioners Joe Nuci, Chuck Taylor and Rick Sowers were present.

Local hockey player Campbell makes his debut on world stage

A founding member of the High Plains Youth Hockey Association is now in Italy to compete in the AAA U15 International Warrior Hockey World Cup. Abraham Campbell, a 15-year-old center iceman from Garden City, flew to Torino, Italy April 18 and will then travel to Aosta, Italy to compete against eight teams from across Europe.
