Dodge City softball made it six in a row with a pair of wins on Sophomore Day on Saturday as the Conquistadors topped Pratt 8-2 and 10-6. The wins move the Conqs to 16-16 on the season and 10-8 in KJCCC action, while also making it 20-straight wins over Pratt in the series.
Dodge City softball has rattled off eight straight wins and stretching out their win streak with two wins on Sunday in Goodland against Northwest Kansas Tech. The Conquistadors claimed a 25-14 victory and 12-1 win in five innings over the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Tech to improve to 18-16 on the season and 12-8 in KJCCC play.
The Dodge City women’s golf team made it a clean sweep of the Jayhawk Conference tournaments in the spring as they dominated the competition again this time in Fort Scott at Woodland Hills golf course.
Dodge City cheer squad hit the road to Daytona, Fla. last week to compete in the NCA Cheer National Championships and once again competed in the Advanced Small Coed Junior College competition.
For the first time since 2017, the Dodge City baseball team picked up a series win over the Pratt Beavers with a split of their doubleheader at home on Saturday, falling 9-4 in game one and claiming a 25-14 win in game two.
The Bucklin Red Aces softball team remains undefeated with two solid wins over Pratt Skyline on Monday night. In the first game Skyline got things started in the first inning as they scored one run. Bucklin pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Sydnie Jones doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Emalea Warden doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, and Halie Feikert tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Warden was credited with the victory for Bucklin. The righthander lasted six innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out eight and walking zero. Bucklin tallied eight hits. Natalie Dale and Jones each had multiple hits for Red Aces. Jones and Dale each collected two hits to lead Red Aces. In the second game Halie Feikert was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Monday, driving in six on three hits to lead Red Aces past Skyline 18-8 on Monday. Feikert drove in runs on a single in the third, a triple in the third, and a single in the fifth.
The Dodge City Area Women’s Chamber of Commerce secretary Jan Stevens, tourism co-chair Deedee Miller and treasurer Debbie Eddy welcome guests to their St. Patrick’s Day breakfast fundraiser at Casey’s Cowtown in March.
