Brown coloration on junipers

If you are like me, you can tell that spring is right around the corner from the amount of pollen that is in the air! One of those pollens is from Junipers. Certain eastern redcedar and various other junipers are showing a brownish cast when viewed from a distance.

DCCC: Softball falls in pair of tight contests versus Hutchinson

Dodge City softball team took on Hutchinson Blue Dragons in a KJCCC doubleheader on Sunday and both games would go down to the final inning to decide the winner. The Conquistadors would, unfortunately, finish on the wrong side of the score falling 10-9 and 10-7 in the contests.

Kansas Heritage Center hires new archivist

What better place than the Kansas Heritage Center for a recent college graduate full of librarian archivist knowledge and a history degree? John Mason began his tenure at the center this month in a new position as library archivist. The position was created to oversee the records people donate to the center, which is located in the basement of the Dodge City Public Library.

DCCC: Baseball opens KJCCC play with sweep of Seward

The Dodge City baseball team opened KJCCC play in a big way breaking out the brooms for a four-game series sweep of Seward County. The Conquistadors opened the series with 10-3 and 5-2 wins at home over the Saints and then followed on Sunday with 10-9 and 15-5 victories.
