BUCKLIN BASKETBALL: Lady Aces fall to Golden Plains ending season

Golden Plains used a big first-half run and the Bucklin Lady Aces could not overcome a rough shooting night as their season ended with a 49-28 loss in the state tournament. Sydnie Jones had 10 points and Halie Feikert 7 points were the leading scorers for the Lady Aces.

DCHS basketball: Red Demons end season in 67-53 loss to Olathe West

The Dodge City Red Demons season came to an end Thursday night with a 67-53 loss to Olathe West. Aidan Sowers led the team in points with 15, Isaiah Taylor finished the night with 11. Cooper Scheck capped off his history-making season with 9 points. Olathe West was led by Harrison Kisling with 26 points.

BUCKLIN BASKETBALL: Red Aces take 4th place in state tournament

Northern Valley outlasted Bucklin in overtime in the boys’ third-place game. Bailey Sides scored a team-high 21 points and had 11 assists. Drew Schemper and Kenton Thalheim finished with 13 and 12, respectively, while Eric Loya, Jeremiah Hansen and Foster Brands scored 10 points each for Northern Valley (23-3). Schemper grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double.
