Two area teachers selected for prestigious Cosmosphere Fellowship

Two southwest Kansas teachers have been selected for Cosmosphere’s 2023 LaunchLearning Fellowship, an honor which comes with over $800 in free resources teachers can share with their school and district. The 2023 class of LaunchLearning Fellows includes third-grade teacher at Linn Elementary School Hailey Cuellar and science and ESL teacher at Jennie Barker Elementary School Jamie Schnaithman.

Liberal celebrates 74th International Pancake Day

The International Pancake Day Race, a tradition between Olney, England and Liberal will take place Feb. 21. This is the 74th year of the race on this side of the pond, but in Olney, England, the Pancake Race tradition dates back nearly 600 years to 1445.

DCCC: Softball opens season at Winter Blast Tournament

Dodge City softball team opened the 2023 season at the Winter Blast Tournament playing some topflight competition and while competing in the contests the Conquistadors would fall in each game. Conqs opened the season with a 10-2 loss to #8 Grayson, while falling 10-1 to Tyler Junior College.
