Locals to participate in 8-Man All Star Game

Many area athletes and coaches have been chosen to participate in the 2022 Kansas 8-Man All-Star Games which will take place in Beloit on Saturday, June 11. Local players representing division one include Torren Haynes, Korben Clawson and Cullen Lumry from Meade High School, Brady Deges from South Gray High School, Brayden Bergkamp and Braydon Patterson from Hodgeman County High School and Kolten Bennett from Spearville.

Dodge City A’s Baseball: come up short in season opener in Liberal

The Dodge City A’s (0-1) were held to just three runs in their season opener June 3 in Liberal as they came up short against the Liberal Bee Jays (1-0) with a final score of 1-11. The A’s struggled to put runs on the board and had a difficult time defensively giving up 11 runs on the night.

Southwest District FFA members receive state FFA degree

MANHATTAN – A total of 14 members from the Southwest district were awarded their State FFA Degree during the 94th Kansas FFA Convention, June 1-3, on the Kansas State University campus. The state degree is the highest honor the Kansas FFA Association can bestow upon its members.
