Founder’s Weekend: three days of fun and excitement

The Dodge City 150th Anniversary Celebration Committee will be hosting Founder’s Weekend from June 17 through 19. These three days of fun and excitement will include a concert in Wright Park, a five-mile run, free admission and special shows/events at the Boot Hill Museum, and the unveiling and dedication of the Bat Masterson statue.

With three games left in the United Premier Soccer League regular season, the Dodge City Toros are in a three-way tie for first place. The Toros are led by coach Andrew de la Torre, a Dodge City native, and have a record of three wins, two draws and one loss on the year.

Info, money on the line when scammers target unaware Ford County residents

Ford County residents have suffered an increase in scams that aim to separate the young, the elderly and the disabled from their money. The most vulnerable, it seems, are folks who believe they are in love with the person preying upon them, Ford County Sheriff Bill Carr told Rotarians at the meeting of the Dodge City chapter June 6 at United Wireless Conference Center.
