Long Branch Lagoon set to open for 6th season

The Long Branch Lagoon Water Park is set to open on Saturday, May 28, for its 6th season! This year, the City of Dodge City has taken over management and operations of the park after having worked with a management contractor in previous seasons.

BHS Track Athletes qualifies for State

Several athletes from Bucklin High School have punched their ticket to State. Andrew Bowman qualified for state after placing second place in the javelin with a throw of 152’4.

Youth Baseball: DC Outlaw 14U defeated by Venom 14U

Venom 14U fired up the offense in the first inning, when Shaylee Cline singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Venom 14U took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third, Cline singled on the first pitch at bat, scoring one run, and Alyssa Peters doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Dodge City A’s 9U Torres fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-3 loss to McPherson Baseball Association McPherson Red 9U May 22. McPherson Baseball Association McPherson Red 9U scored on a single by Dalton V, a stolen base by Dalton, a double by Issac R, a triple by Kasen S, and a groundout by Riley B in the first inning.

Dodge City A’s 12U fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-1 loss to South Central Gassers 12U on May 22. The Dodge City A’s 12U struggled to contain the high-powered offense of South Central Gassers 12U, giving up seven runs.
