DCCC: Austin Shiner, Dayne Llamas join football coaching staff

The Dodge City football coaching staff continues to take shape for firstyear Head Coach, Terry Karg with his latest two additions to the staff as Austin Shiner and Dayne Llamas have joined the staff. Shiner will assume the role of wide receivers/ tight ends coach and work with the team’s strength and conditioning, while Llamas will work the runningbacks.

BHS Softball: Red Aces defeats Skyline

The Lady Aces made a statement with a 15-5 victory over Pratt Skyline in the opening round of the regionals April 16. The Lady Aces got on the board in the first inning when Emalea Warden singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

BHS Softball: Lady Aces fall to Ellis

The Lady Aces fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-7 loss to Ellis on Tuesday. Ellis scored on a triple by Michelle Gottschalk in the first inning and a double by Braelyn Born in the second inning.

BHS Baseball: Season ends at Elkhart’s hands

The Buckin Red Aces baseball team faced the Spearville Lancers in the first game the night of May 17. The Red Aces weathered a scare by the Lancers in the sixth inning where the Aces coughed up three runs, but the Red Aces still won 6-3 May 17.

DCHS Soccer : Lady Demons advance to the regional championship

The Lady Demons advance to the regional championship with a 6-0 victory over Haysville Campus. Jasmine Ruiz led the team with 6 goals on the night and Mattyson Scheck scored 2 goals. The Lady Demons improve to 12-3 on the year and will be facing Wichita Northwest.

DCHS Boys Golf: Golf team qualifies for state

The boys golf team competed at the Great Bend invitational May 12. Congratulations to Cooper Scheck (72) and Aiden Robinson (77) placing 4th and 5th at the 6A Regional Tournament.

The Red Demons Baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-0 loss to Lawrence Free State May 18. Lawrence Free State scored on a home run by Brady Kern, a single by Mason Lester, a groundout by Calvin Urish, and a wild pitch during Will Dawson’s at bat in the first inning.
