Dodge City USD 443 will display ‘In God We Trust’ posters

The Dodge City USD 443 Board of Education voted June 13 to approve the display of the national motto “In God We Trust,” in each of the district’s 18 attendance centers. Board president Lisa Killion, vice president Tammie West, Jerad Goertzen, Jamey Lewis-Gonzales and Jeff Hiers were present at the meeting.

Dodge City A’s: Beat the Outlaws June 10, 11

The Dodge City A’s picked up their first victory June 10 against the Colorado Springs Outlaws 12-2. The A’s got their offense going in the second inning of the game, as the A’s scored two runs to take a 3-0 lead.

Southwest Kansas Storm: Season comes to an end

The Storm season ended on a sour note as they lost a close one to the Omaha Beef 21-27 in the opening round of the playoffs June 11 in Omaha. The Beef had two rushing touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead into the second quarter.

Western Edge hockey team competes in Kansas Cup Tournament

The Western Edge, which is composed of adult hockey players from all over western Kansas, played four games in the 2022 Kansas Cup tournament at the Wichita Ice Center the June 11 weekend. Despite four losses, coach Howard Fisher, of Scott City, said he thought they team played pretty well considering their lack of experience.
