Secretary of State Scott Schwab made a visit to Dodge City June 6 and his first stop was to meet with county clerk Debbie Cox. During their visit, Schwab and Cox discussed existing measures that are in place to ensure elections are secure as well as numerous election security improvements passed and signed into law during the 2022 legislative session.
New redistricting maps for Ford County this week will be made available on fordcounty.net. Those maps will also be presented at a free “Election 101” class in the lobby of the Ford County Government Center, 100 Gunsmoke St., at 6 p.m.

This past weekend the Kansas 6-Man Football All-Star Game was held at Lewis Field Stadium on the Fort Hays State University campus. At the end of the night the North ended up prevailing by a score of 25-19 and continuing their winning streak to three games over the south.
Passersby Eisenhower Park can finally see what began in a barn in 2011 as a large mural project for Dodge City. Renaissance woman Inga Ojala said the mural was going to be painted directly on the wall at the park but decided to go with four panels instead.

The Dodge City A’s continued to make progress on the field but came up short June 6 as Great Bend won 5-2. Great Bend opened up the game in the first inning by scoring four runs to end the inning up 4-0.
