For some, spring brings the exciting anticipation of time spent in their yards, mowing, trimming, planting, and watering in concert with Mother Nature’s annual greening. Others view it differently. Either due to lack of time or expertise, or simply an absence of interest, some start thinking about who to hire to take care of all those yard chores. Your Better Business Bureau (BBB) offers the following advice to help you make smart choices when hiring professionals for your lawn care needs.

Dodge City Cowboy Band birthday bash set for April 24

It is a birthday party 174 years in the making as the Dodge City Cowboy Band will celebrate its founder Chalkley Beeson with a concert on Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery where Beeson’s grave resides.

Ford County Sheriff issues statement on shooting, traffic enforcement

The Ford County Sheriff’s Office issued a couple statements over the weekend, one of which dealt with an investigation into a shooting that allegedly occurred on March 27. According to Ford County Sheriff Bill Carr, asked for the public’s assistance on information from an incident involving gunfire that occurred during the early morning hours of March 27 in rural Ford County south of Dodge City.

For the first time since 2017, the Dodge City men’s basketball team has an individual earn NJCAA All-American honors as Themus Fulks was named second team NJCAA All-American after a great season. Fulks is the first Conquistador since 1984 to earn second-team or higher NJCAA All-American honors.
